Terms & Conditions
The fine print (but written for humans).
During the grooming process, absolute care is taken to ensure the health of your pet. We will do all that is necessary to ensure their wellbeing whilst in our care. However, in the event of an emergency or a serious medical problem being discovered during the groom, we shall seek veterinary care. The Owner agrees that The Fur Salon shall not be held liable for any pre-existing conditions and problems found, and The Owner agrees to pay for all medical treatment incurred.
Please note we are not a veterinary surgery, and any advice given regarding health matters are purely our own opinions from experience and should not be construed as professional medical advice. We would always recommend you consult with a veterinarian.
Please ensure, to the best of your knowledge, you have advised us of all pre-existing medical conditions, lumps and bumps on your pet.
In the event of your pet suffering from excessive matting and needing to be shaved down, the owner should be aware that irritation may occur from the shaving process. In addition, clipping the coat down may uncover nicks, scabs, cuts, hot spots, fungal and bacterial issues, maggots, and pre-existing irritation. We will use sensitive shampoo to help soothe and alleviate problems. We may also recommend vet care be sought post grooming.
As the pet owner, you agree that The Fur Salon shall not be held liable for any post- grooming effects of clipping a matted/neglected coat. These may include, but are not limited to, the following: itchiness, skin redness or self-inflicted irritations/abrasions from excessive rubbing or scratching.
In conjunction with The Animal Welfare Act of 2006 (clause 5 – Animals are to be protected from pain, injury, suffering…), we are prepared to attempt to de-mat coats before shaving down if requested by the customer, however will clip off should your pet show signs of suffering during the process.
The Fur Salon reserves the right to refuse to groom any pet they consider could create risk of safety to either the groomer or dog. An appropriate muzzle may be used, or services discontinued for the wellbeing of all involved.
The Owner agrees to pay any additional costs for grooming their pet, including, but not limited to, special handling and de-matting, matted coat removal, any applicable fees due to flea infestation, and late pick up / missed appointments. Dogs with flea infestations will incur an additional fee of ÂŁ5 to cover fumigation costs.
Please be on time for your appointment. Clients who arrive late may be charged an additional late fee of ÂŁ5. Clients who arrive half an hour late will not be groomed that day and consequently will have to rebook.
Please ensure you collect your pet at the time arranged on arrival. Please call immediately if you are running late. Whilst The Fur Salon does allow reasonable leeway for traffic and unforeseen circumstances, a late pick up fee/kennelling charge may apply.
If you are unable to keep your appointment, it is the owner’s responsibility to let us know as soon as possible. If you fail to do this, without good cause, we may be unable to accept your pet at the next appointment date.
The Owner gives The Fur Salon permission to take photographs or short videos of their pets, for marketing and education purposes.
